Geographic Definitions

ATTENTION:  EWHotSpots.com data has been completely updated!  We also have made some significant changes to market geography.  The following is a complete description of all updates and changes to EWHotSpots.com.

150 Metro Markets – In the past, the metro markets were represented as MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Areas). The term "core based statistical area" (CBSA) became effective in 2000 and refers collectively to metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas.  EWHotSpots.com has converted all market level geography to the CBSA metropolitan market definitions.  Here is a list of the markets now offered in EWHotSpots.com along with the counties contained in each market.

Updated data – The Population Projects, Household/Housing Unit Statistics, and Demographic Summaries reports are now updated to reflect the following timeframes:  2000 (Census year), 2005, and 2010.
